LOCAL STUDENT WORKS TO BE PERFORMED

SOME OF OUR LOCAL MUSIC STUDENTS ARE MAKING IT AS COMPOSERS. ON AUGUST 15 AT 2:00 PM YOU CAN HEAR A SET OF SIX OF THEIR COMPOSITIONS IN THE ATRIUM OF THE CIVIC CENTER. THE WORKS IN THE SET USE MELODIES BY LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SETTINGS BY STUDENTS AT FALLS CHURCH HIGH SCHOOL.

JAMES MURSELL, WHO WILL DIRECT THE FALLS CHURCH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA IN THE CONCERT, IS AMAZED AT THE QUALITY OF THE STUDENTS' WORK. "WE'RE ALSO GOING TO PLAY SOME MASTERPIECES BY ALBINIONI, BLOCH, AND BARBER," HE SAID. "BUT THESE STUDENT PIECES ARE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SHOW."

FOR INFORMATION CALL 555-555-5555. ADMISSION IS FREE.
