Installing a Sibelius or Finale Demo will install the necessary fonts on your system. Windows has an application called CharMap which displays all of the characters in a font set and the key combinations to access them. I have no idea if Macs have something similar.
Once the fonts are on your system they can be accessed in Word like any other font. You need to know the proper key combination.
A more elegant and professional way to present music in a Word document is to actually possess a notation program in which you can export sections of the music as a graphic and then import the graphic into a Word document. I do this frequently.
: Hello! Is it possible to notate rhythmic symbols in a microsoft office document? For instance is there a font that you can download (and where would you get it) that offers symbols for depicting the quarter note, eighth note, a rest, etc?
: I am a mac user and my computer is new as of three months ago...
: I would love to know how to type rhythmic notations for my lesson plans because they would look much more professional if I can figure this out.
: THANKS!!!
