Computer - MacBook or Mac Mini (The reason I say the Mini is because, depending on size, most tech departments have an extra monitor, keyboard and mouse that you can use. If you get the Mini get the Core Duo and not the Core Solo and upgrade to 1 Gig of ram.)
M-Audio Ozone USB MIDI Mobile Keyboard - This will function as your midi keyboard which you can use to enter midi data into GarageBand, but it also will serve as your audio I/O which will let you use a mic to record live sound into GarageBand.
