We have a unique situation in our district. Currently, we start orchestra students in third grade and band students in the fourth grade. We have a student who is in third grade and his parents want him to be involved in the band in third grade. One of our administrators have asked me to look into why students are usually started in fourth grade and also asked me to find research supporting or refuting the idea. I have looked on Ebsco host and WilsonWeb for research and cannot quite put together the right keywords to find what I am looking for. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to help me out.
