I am a string player, and when I first began to direct MS band (27 yrs ago) I picked up a euphonium and learned how to play it. That is the best way to be able to teach your young players. Get a good one, clean it up, get out your tuner and Rubank book, and then have your LB section come outside of school; maybe on a Saturday and order pizza. Play slow unison scales to start with; keep the tuner nearby. Good luck to you.
