When we come across a tricky rhythm part, I will have them stand up. We'll creat a 3/4 or 4/4 beat ostinato, clapping, patting, snapping etc. Get everyone in te groove. Then You sing the part, then they all sing the part. I swear every time I've had them do this, they get it right. This activity helps break up the rehearsal, gets them moving and takes the stress off their performance.
