What Would the World Be Like Without Music?
Added: Feb 10, 2011 - View
The following lesson is based on one of our school district's essential questions. Students are encouraged to think about all of the different ways music affects their own lives. Students share their answers with a partner first and then the class and develop a list. Students compose an essay based on this list. Teachers read the rough draft and evaluate it by using the "two stars and a wish" method. The teacher writes two postive comments about the student's rough draft with a wish for improvement sandwiched in the middle. I included two rubrics to score a final typed draft of this essay and a voluntary rewrite.
