Ready, Set, Learn! Music Education Week Offers a Variety of Professional Development Academies

What happens at a Music Education Week "academy?"

MENC’s Music Education Week include concerts, student performances, and advocacy opportunities -- and the music education academies will give music educators in-depth exploration in one or more areas of study.

In addition to the academies, Music Education Week's advocacy initiatives bookend the Washington, D.C. event.

  • On Friday June 25, the Rally for Music Education and National Anthem Sing takes place in Upper Senate Park.
  • MENC leadership, including the National Executive Board and state leaders, will participate in webinars and in-person training on advocacy and MENC messaging.
  • MENC leaders will visit their lawmakers on Capitol Hill
  • MENC will hold a wrap-up webinar where leaders will learn how to repurpose the messaging/training from Music Education Week for use at the state and local level.
