Make A Donation to Support Music Education October 19-20 and Help MENC Win a $1,000 Award
Causes, The Case Foundation and Parade Magazine organized America's Giving Challenge to encourage people to use social networking to support non-profit causes. During the campaign, October 7 through November 6, the nonprofit organization with the most unique donations will win a $50,000 award from the Case Foundation. The goal is not to raise the most money, but to build collective action in support of a cause.
In the short term, supporters of MENC and music education can help MENC win the daily $1,000 Award on October 19 and 20 by getting the most people to donate on those days. Donate at least $10 between 3 PM ET Monday, October 19, and 3 PM ET Tuesday, October 20. Encourage your friends, coworkers, and family members to donate with you. The daily winners have averaged about 200 donations. The current leader for for $50,000 award has fewer than 700 donations.
"MENC is using every resource to connect with members and the general public," said John Mahlmann, MENC Executive Director. "Our Twitter, LinkedIn, Causes, and Facebook sites engage more than 150,000 people! America's Giving Challenge gives everyone a chance to make a difference through these social networks and help us win the $50,000 award."

Music education supporters can break up their donations to make a bigger impact. In addition to donating on October 19 and 20, donate anytime before 3 pm ET on November 6. MENC seeks the most unique donations because each single donation per individual of $10 or more counts toward the overall total. Donate once a day for 10 days, and that will count 10 times toward helping MENC win the overall award of $50,000.
