Deadline to Apply to Appear on World’s Largest Concert® Program Nears

 

The deadline is September 26, 2011, for teachers to submit their performance ideas for their student ensembles to be considered for an appearance in the 2012 World’s Largest Concert. 

For 2012, three concert songs were chosen that will be appealing to middle and high school ensembles, as well as elementary schools.  The repertoire also includes songs in a variety of languages, songs with Orff and percussion parts, and one song with full choreography.

The 2012 Concert program (songs in bold are appropriate for middle and high school students).

 • "Discussin’ Percussion" – arr. Anderson

• "Dona Nobis Pacem" –Miller

• "El Vito" – arr. Crocker

• "Everlasting Melody" – Dilworth

• "Feel the Beat" – Emerson and Jacobson

• "Rock Island Line" – arr. Day

• "The Star-Spangled Banner"–  Key and Smith

The Hal Leonard Corporation generously supports the 2012 Concert by providing the sheet music and audio files for the program. Teachers are permitted to reproduce sufficient copies of this music for use only in preparation for and performances during March, Music In Our Schools Month.

When reproducing the music,  the copyright notice appear once on each piece. Teachers must destroy copies of this music at the end of March 2012.
