Add Mandy to March's Music In Our Schools Month Mix

On February 20, Tony Award-winning actor and singer Mandy Patinkin recorded a public service announcement for MENC's Why Music? radio PSA series. Patinkin, currently starring in the play Compulsion at the Yale Repertory Theatre, took time between his matinee and evening performances to meet with MENC staffer Cheryl Woleslagle and record the PSA.

Patinkin joins Martha Wash, Joshua Redman, and a host of other musical stars from the pop, country, jazz and classical genres in celebrating the benefits of school music during Music In Our Schools Month. MENC members and music education advocates can download the PSAs for their own use or encourage their local radio stations to play them.
