Director of Administration, Music Center

Description:

Marian College seeks a full time Assistant Director of Bands to assist the Director of Bands in the year-round operations and recruiting of the bands program.  The Assistant will support the Director with daily teaching and organization of university bands, including writing drill, arranging music, assisting with Marching Knights marching band, pep bands, drum and bugle corps, summer camps, directing concert band and other duties as assigned.  Other assignments, such as classroom and/or studio teaching assignments are contingent upon the candidate’s qualifications and departmental needs.

 

Requirements include a Master degree or a Bachelors degree with equivalent professional experience, strong recruiting and conducting skills, at least three to five years demonstrated success in directing high school and/or college/university concert and marching bands and a proven ability to work with students of varying skill levels.

 

Marian College will become Marian University on July 1, 2009 and is a Catholic, liberal arts College with degree programs in the arts, sciences and professional studies, located on 114 wooded acres six miles from downtown Indianapolis.
