Description: Faculty Vacancy, Fall 2009: Music Education. Rank: Beginning to mid-level Assistant Professor (full-time, tenure track); salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Starting Date: September 1, 2009. Duties: Teach courses for undergraduate and graduate music education students and supervise student teaching. Teach other undergraduate and graduate courses as needed based on candidate’s strengths. Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publication as well as other scholarly pursuits. Supervise theses and dissertations. Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Music Education by the time of appointment; record of publication in peer-reviewed music education journals and presentations is highly desirable. A record of successful K-12 teaching with college teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of teacher certification requirements and state and national art standards highly desirable.
